A Very Photogenic Family

I had a wonderful portrait session with Jackie, Vinh, and Vivienne last weekend. The session was starring Vivienne, so we did lots of fun headshots of her. We also got lots of stuff of the whole family and Jackie & Vinh alone (they have SO MUCH chemistry!!!!). All three of them were part a wedding I shot in 2007 (Gina & Matt) and it was great to see them again. Since they are friends of Gina & Matt, it didn’t surprise me when I got to know them better that they are some of the nicest, most genuine people ever. And it is impossible for any one of these three to look bad in a photo. I hope we get to work together again soon!!

FYI: I’m leaving for Williamsburg tomorrow because I have a wedding there this weekend, so I won’t be answering emails until Monday!

Get Ready for Some Good Dance Pics!

I shot Melissa & TJ’s wedding in Leesburg two weekends ago and it was sooooo beautiful. And it was SOOO FUN!!! There were tons of adorable little details to the wedding, and everything was set at Raspberry Plain, with its perfect garden to hold the ceremony. I loved hanging out with the girls while they got ready, they were hilarious.

Ok, hanging out with Melissa & TJ and their family and friends was awesome, and one of my favorite parts of the day…but coming in a close 2nd was the dancing at this wedding. Melissa & TJ did a surprise hip-hop dance in the middle of their first dance. NO ONE knew it was going to be happening (thankfully they did give me and Laura, their wedding planner a heads up ; )). EVERYONE was so excited to see this break out dance, and it was the perfect start to the dance party.

I am so lucky to have been part of Melissa & TJ’s wedding day, and I’m happy to share a few of my favorites!

I adore Melissa’s parents! Her dad peaked in to see if she was ready and her mom was already looking so proudly at her daughter, I just love this moment

There was so much going on in this moment: bridesmaids helping to keep Melissa cool before the ceremony and her mom tearing up looking at her beautiful daughter. It makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. ; )
